I guess that I have been Scrapbooking for about 12 years, when I first went to a home party and discovered the world of paper and stickers!!. Well things have changed a lot since then in Scrapbooking. The reason that I started to scrapbook was for my kids. I have always been the “photo taker” in our family, and have always taken A LOT of photos!! I was looking for a way to display and preserve these photos, and I knew that I had found that in scrapbooking as soon as I was introduced to it! Since that first home party, my passion for Scrapbooking has continued to grow, not just to produce standard pages for my many albums, but as home décor and fun projects. I must admit that I think I enjoy making mini albums and other altered art projects the most! Not surprising, since I’ve been an avid crafter all my life, and have worked in all kinds of mediums. I love to try all the new products as they come available on the market, and see what can be done with them. I love to use chalk, I find that it really brings life to whatever I am working on. chalk, I find that it really brings life to whatever I am working on.
The new chalking inks are my favorite. I think my next favorite supply would have to be patterned paper, and I buy and hoard it without shame!! Oh what the heck, I love everything about Scrapbooking, yes, I am addicted!!
My favorite subjects are of course my kids, Stefan, Kristyn, and Erik. They tolerate fairly well their lives being plastered all over my shop walls. Scrapbooking their pictures and stories is one way I can express to them how much I love them, how proud I am, and how special they are to me. Of course I have a great and supportive husband in Brent, who is a very tolerant, and generous man. It’s because of him that I have been able to follow my dreams to open my own Scrapbooking store! It has been an adjustment to the whole family to have me so busy after being pretty much a stay at home mom for so many years. I also really like to scrapbook trips that I have taken with my girlfriends. I have been fortunate to take some really interesting trips with some really great friends over the years. Lillian and I have traveled all over for pleasure and for Scrapbooking events, and a big part of those trips is always shopping to find new Scrapbooking supplies!
My hopes for the Design Team are that we are able to come together as a group and try some new techniques and products, and introduce them to you by displays on the design team board, demos, classes and at crops. These are a talented group of ladies who have already produced some wonderful projects and layouts for you to see. I look forward to working with them all, you should definitely drop down to the store to check out their work!!!
